Yesterday a friend came over and we made some traditional American recipes for him. Macadamia Wedding Cookies and Coconut Macaroons with Hershey kisses. I made cupcakes, inspired by german flavors though not necessarily something you can attribute directly to a a German confectioner.
Next round of baking will feature some German favorites. Kipferl with hazelnuts to start. I am also thinking to try zimtsternen, cinnamon stars. Though they will most likely be snowflakes. Also on the docket are linzers.
In the meantime, here is the latest from Harry Ulrich over at SWR4 Baden-Württemberg. When you see how this thing goes together you will know why I love his work. This is a Wiehnachtstort to aspire to!
Hi there, It sounds like you had a lot of fun in the kitchen!
Here’s a Christmas freebie for you:
The link below takes you to a short article, which shows how you can easily obtain your gift. (but…if you’re suspicious that’s there’s no such thing as a free gift and don’t want to go clicking onto links, you can check it out the other way through my blog, by typing “light-bites for your heart” on the Reader page. It is the most recent blog entitled ‘A Christmas Present For You All’.)
I hope you like it and can have some fun with it. Best wishes for a fantastic Christmas.
